Caeleb Dressel, Katie Ledecky, Lilly King, Carson Foster, Ryan Lochte, Simone Manuel… the names continue when looked upon the pool deck at 2019 US Open Championships. Not only there were multiple Olympians attending the meet, but it was hosted at an previous Olympic site. The pool was at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia which was the prime location of where the 1996 Summer Olympics was held.

Our very own, Kayde Cross, swam in his first US Open meet over the weekend and was it a big meet! This was the last stop for a lot of the top swimmers before 2020 Olympic Trials. “This meet is fun! And Intimidating” said Head Coach Jon David Williford. For Kayde’s first BIG meet, he held his own. Being right on his times and going a best time on the last day is something pretty big especially with never going to a stage this big before.

50 Meter Free – 24.05 – Placed 122nd (moved up 39 spots!)
100 Meter Back – 58.75 – Placed 87th
100 Meter Free – 52.34 – Placed 116th (moved up 36 spots and goes Best Time)

Congrats on a great meet, Kayde. Parkway is very proud of you!
