What are the “Parkway Prep” groups?
The Parkway Prep groups are a seasonal (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) program for the casually committed swimmer. These groups are for those swimmers looking to grow, learn and have fun in the sport of swimming, while possibly preparing for a more successful summer league and/or High School swim season. Additionally, the Parkway Prep groups are non-competitive, with the exception of any racing done in practice situations.
In which group will my child swim?
There are two Parkway Prep Groups:
Age Group Prep—Swimmers age 8-12
Senior Prep—Swimmers age 13 & Over
Does my child need to be legal in a 4 competitive strokes to qualify for “Parkway Prep”?
Swimmers should be legal in the 4 competitive strokes to qualify for either Age Group or Senior prep. Team tryouts allow our professional coaching staff to determine a swimmer’s readiness.
Swimmers age 12 & Under who are not legal in any of the competitive strokes are encouraged to join St. Louis’ most popular learn-to-swim program: the Parkway Swim Club Swim School. Please contact Swim School Director Melissa Beasley at mbeasley@pkwy.k12.mo.us for more information on these programs.
Does my child need to tryout for “Parkway Prep”?
All prospective members must complete a Team tryout to allow for appropriate group placement. For the 2012-2013 season, registration will be done online at:
