Welcome to Parkway Swim Club

LET’S GET THIS STARTED

Thank you for the great reception that my family and I have received while we are getting settled. It has been a whirl-wind of activity and excitement as we are transitioning to St. Louis . I cannot say with more pride or joy that I am the Parkway Swim Club’s newest Head Coach.

First off, I want to thank Coach Nick Rudich for all the guidance and leadership that he has provided to PKWY for the past 10 years. It will be a tall order to follow in his foot steps. He was a great coach and we all here at PKWY wish him the best and look forward to seeing him at the meets soon. Nick has made the transition smooth and easy for all of us.

PKWY Swim Club is rich with history and is one of the most storied programs in the United States . As we go through this transitional phase of the club, please be patient with the staff and Booster Board as we look at the club with a fresh new set of eyes and see where things can be changed or improved. This will be a time consuming process that needs to happen. At the parents meeting there was GREAT feedback and I will address as many of the items as I can here on this forum. We will be scheduling the team's first Parents Educational Session in late September or early October. We will also be planning the series of educational events based off the cards turned in at the parents meeting. The staff cannot emphasize enough the importance of attending these educational seminars. Some will be for parents, some for swimmers and some for everyone. The first one that we will be scheduling will be Nutrition/Sports Nutrition. Check the calendars for more information as they become available.

Communication will always be something that we will continue to improve upon. Please do not hesitate to call during our office hours or e-mail any of our staff.   Understand that it may take us a day or 2 to respond, but we will. We are here to ensure that the athletes are taken care of, and we listen to all of your concerns. The team website will be a great resource for information on all of the Club updates. We are also looking at a big brother/sister program and a Rookie/Experienced Parents Partnerships. If you are willing to help us coordinate this, please let me know.

This is going to be an exciting year for PKWY. I have 2 goals for this year. 1 – Queeny Park Pool: This is a NEED for the TEAM. Please get involved and let’s make this a reality. 2 – Building a TEAM. I really am striving to build a strong UNIFIED team, not just swimmers that represent Parkway. This is a long and fun process starting with the first meet. It is an expectation that we wear Parkway Swim Club T- shirts and everyone sits together. This is the easiest step in this process of TEAM BUILDING .  TEAM BUILDING = A GROUP of INDIVIDUALS that STAYS together, WORKS together, and ACHIEVES GREATNESS.....
TOGETHER.
